Cycling capes are a great way to cover up  when cycling.

Cycling capes have developed leaps and bounds over the last few years and many  are now breathable as well as waterproof.   When buying a cycling cape ensure that it is 100% waterproof and closed at the sides and has a good quality attached hood.  It can be of benefit to have viewing windows on the hood but not essential.

A good cycling cape will also have some type of cord attachement that can be fixed to the cycle so the cape does not blow up and away over your head in windy conditions.

Cycling capes are not for competive cycling but more for short distance commuter cycling.  When buying a cycle cape it does not matter too much if is slightly on the large size as ideally you want it to cover you and your cycle. 

Cycling capes are also ideal if you are in a wheelchair and want to covered up.
