20 great rides in and around the city - includes off-road routes and over 250km of car-free riding.
These 20 carefully-planned rides are designed around the city parkland, canals and countryside of Birmingham and the Black Country. Avoiding vehicles wherever possible, they explore unexpected green nooks and sights of interest in and around the area.
Easy rides are listed for children and beginners, and off-road rides for mountain bikers.
There are also listings of cafes and pubs en route and all the ride instructions are accompanied with mapping from Philips and Ordnance Survey.
Nicky Crowther is a former national team mountain biker and author of several cycling and travel books including Haynes' London Cycle Guide and Where to Mountain Bike in Britain. A regular Contributor to the cycling magazines, she lives in London and continues to race and ride.
